A secure foundation in English enables students to achieve their potential in a range of areas such as: reading, writing, discussion and debate. English is crucial in developing students` understanding of their own identity, expression and empathy.

In English we encourage students to consider their own and other people`s voices. We aim to develop empathy by sharing a wide range of literature which explores human lives in diverse situations. We seek to ensure that all students are able to communicate effectively in written or spoken language and as a response to reading.
