At Cranbourne, we pride ourselves on being at the heart of our community. A welcoming 11-16 comprehensive school close to the town centre, our excellent facilities including expansive playing fields, swimming pool, Sports Hall, Fitness Suite, Hair and Beauty Salon and music rooms allow us to offer a diverse curriculum where students can immerse themselves in their passions. We promote a culture of respect, inclusivity and excellence encompassing our values of creativity, challenge, care and community. We are dedicated to the well-being of every student, and offer support through our specialist unit for students with Dyslexia, our SEN Department and mental health provision to ensure students feel safe, happy and supported.

Pupils feel happy and safe at Cranbourne. The opportunities pupils receive, both academically and beyond the subject curriculum, prepare them well for their next steps in employment, education or training.
Cranbourne students are very polite and helpful and made the primary students feel very welcomed at the Cluster Conference. Some of our girls were very nervous about coming to the 'big school' for the day, but they were instantly put at ease and had a fantastic time.
Cranbourne has cultivated a positive culture and ethos, focusing on creating a family feel and fostering positive relationships in lessons.
Student Leadership is phenomenal and staff adapt to student needs, focusing on whole-child development supported by the ethos curriculum, resulting in no disadvantaged gap.
It was lovely to see the staff and students talking about Cranbourne with such pride and enthusiasm. They really care about their school and are whole heartedly committed to making Cranbourne a safe, supportive and enjoyable place for our young people to be able to learn and thrive.
Leaders use their knowledge of pupils' needs to ensure that they get the right support at the right time. Staff use effective strategies to help pupils to overcome the barriers to learning that they face.

On Wednesday 6 May, Year 9 students visited University of Winchester to gain a better understanding of life as a university student. Students attended a talk about all the different pathways into university before enjoying some refreshments in the student café. They went on a tour of the West Downs Quarter with current students, which included the opportunity to visit a lecture hall, where some of our Year 9s had the chance to practice delivering a lecture to their peers. After lunch they explored the King Alfred Quarter, visiting the Student Union and Burma Road Halls of Residence, where they saw where they could be living one day. They learned more about the support on offer to students and played a game where they attempted to manage their finances for a typical week, which was certainly an eye opener! Our students had a truly fantastic experience, with many of them discussing how much they want to attend Winchester University in the future on the coach home. A huge thank you to all the staff and student at Winchester for welcoming our students and taking the time to give them tours and answer all their questions.

Congratulations to our Year 7 Girls football team who came from bottom of the league table to champions of the tournament! Following a rocky start to the competition, the girls came into the third round in second place to play The Hurst in the quarter finals. They played some fantastic football and scored some great goals to comfortably win 10-1. A tough semi-final against The Blue Coat School followed, and with some disallowed goals it was a close match but we came out winners, 6-4! After a prep talk, the girls went into the final focused, but determined to win. They knew it wasn't going to be easy against the hosts Brighton Hill A, however they were confident and the trophy was in close sight! With Khadija making some outstanding saves in goal, Kenya, Jynelle, Emily and Sarah scoring some worldie goals, and Emilie with her brilliant defending, they went on to win 5-0! Huge congratulations to all the girls, including Maisie P. You did Mrs Ball, Mr George-Vaughan and the whole Cranbourne Community proud!
