At Cranbourne, we recognise the value in both reading for purpose and reading for pleasure. The ability to read is fundamental to the success of every subject we study at school and shapes student's ability to thrive in the future.
The library is open to students during break and lunchtimes, where they are able to find a quiet space to read, explore the books in our library and socialise with their peers. There are currently over 7000 books in stock, available for students to borrow. Loans are for 2 weeks.
Our Reading Ambassadors are passionate about all things reading and love immersing themselves in the world of books. Each week, they meet with Miss Bessmertna and pick their book of the week.

We read as a whole group in tutor time. There is a broad range of books being read across the whole school most mornings, from the classics to some contemporary authors, such as Charlie Higson and Matt Haig.
