The air at Cranbourne buzzed with celebration as students, staff and parents gathered for GCSE Results Day. After months of determination and hard work, the Year 11s enjoyed a proud moment as they collected their long awaited grades, a clear milestone in their school journey.
As envelopes were opened, excitement, relief and pride swept through the hall: wide smiles, happy tears and warm embraces paid testament to the effort shown by students and teachers alike. Headteacher Miss Sarah Conlon praised the cohort, saying the outcomes reflected not just academic achievement but the resilience and perseverance that characterise the Cranbourne Community.
Among the top performers were Fatma Celik (9999999998 Distinction), Lauren Brooks (99999987, Merit), Prapti Sahi (998888887, Distinction*) and Adeola Olorode (988877776).
Reflecting on their success, Adeola shared how much he enjoyed his time at Cranbourne. “I really enjoyed the people, the teachers and PE! The Cranbourne Community were so supportive throughout my education and I can’t wait for what’s next.” Adeola will be attending Queen Mary’s College in September, studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
Equally impressive was the performance of Lauren who achieved 6 Grade 9s, one 8, one 7 and a Merit in Performing Arts. Lauren said “I am really pleased with my result in Film Studies! I worked so hard, putting in many hours of revision and I’m so happy all my hard work paid off!”
Jessica Dooner, one of our Head Students this year at Cranbourne said “It’s difficult to pick just one highlight of my time at Cranbourne! I’ve always tried to do the best I can in all areas of school life, but the opportunities the Performing Arts Department have given me were what I enjoyed the most!” Jess will be attending Kingsclere Performing Arts College in September, choosing to continue her dedication to the arts.
Cranbourne’s students’ success reflects the tireless commitment of the school’s staff, who routinely do more to ensure every student has the resources and support needed to flourish. Programmes such as after-school revision, one-to-one mentoring, focused revision evenings and robust wellbeing provision have all played a major role in securing these strong outcomes.
Families have been key to these results, with numerous parents expressing gratitude for the school’s reliable care and dedication to their youngsters’ learning.
Abigail Spencer, who will be attending Sparsholt College to study Physical Fitness and Personal Training said “I’m so happy with my results! I am particularly pleased with my Maths grade. I could not have passed it without the help of Mr Pegler!”.
Mrs Spencer, mother of Abigail added: “It just goes to show that the right teacher really makes a big difference! I’m so grateful to all of the teachers at Cranbourne for the support they have given Abigail.”
We congratulate all our students on their achievements and thank our staff, parents and partners for their ongoing support.
Cranbourne’s celebrations continue, and the school remains focused on developing the next generation of leaders, thinkers and innovators. Today’s successes honour past effort and provide a solid platform for what comes next. We congratulate every student on their achievements and remind them that the knowledge and skills they’ve gained at Cranbourne have prepared them well to fulfil their potential.
