Year 6 Transition

Welcome to Cranbourne 

Thank you for choosing Cranbourne to continue your child’s educational journey – we are so happy to have you as part of our Cranbourne Community.

This is a big step in your child’s education and we’re here to support you and your child as they transition into Secondary School.

We start the process by gathering as much information as we can from your child’s primary school, before beginning our visits. Ms Corrigan, our Transition Coordinator, alongside other key members of staff will visit your child at their current school to learn about their interests, hobbies, favourite subjects and ask the biggest question of all – which house group do they want to be in?

In line with our mission to make Cranbourne greener and to reduce our paper usage, our transition paperwork is now online. You will receive your ‘Guide to Starting Secondary School’ booklet, detailing lots of key information for life at Cranbourne via email.

As part of our Admissions process, it is a legal requirement for us to collect certain data about you and your child. You will be required to complete various Microsoft Forms in order for us to collect this, which is handled confidentially in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR guidelines.
