The Lighthouse is our provision to enhance the well-being of our students and staff. We offer a safe and welcoming environment where students can be heard and feel supported, which will positively impact on their learning and mental health. Being happy and healthy is the first step to being successful.
The Lighthouse is a safe, calming and friendly environment for students to access when struggling with issues in and outside of school. This facility is accessible to students throughout their school day.
We believe well-being is at the heart of our school and ensure that our support interventions are bespoke through a thorough understanding of what each student requires.

The Thrive Approach is a dynamic, developmental, and trauma-sensitive approach to meeting the emotional and social needs of children and young people. It is proven to improve attendance, behaviour, and learning outcomes. The approach focuses on understanding children's needs as shown by their behaviour and aims to build resilience and reduce the risk of mental illness.
We are proud of have a selection of fully trained mental health ambassadors who are available in school, for their peers, if they have any worries or concerns both inside and outside of school.
There are times when we believe a student may benefit from external support and, in these circumstances, we will liaise with our external partners, who include:
“Her constant support made me feel heard and that my feelings mattered. My sessions with Mrs Millett are most definitely going to help me when I go on to college and when I get older”.
“Just wanted to say thank you for being there for my daughter. It’s been so lovely for her to have an adult she can trust in school. You really have been amazing for her!”.
