Religion, Ethics and Philosophy

Students at Cranbourne study a variety of topics encompassing issues of philosophy, religion and ethics in order to develop a broad and balanced world view. The core aim of PRE at Cranbourne is for students to be able to develop their own opinions on world issues that are grounded in facts.

During a pupil’s five years at Cranbourne they will have the opportunity to study the origin of faith, Eastern & Western religious traditions as well as a broad variety of ethical, philosophical & global issues.

Students are encouraged to think for themselves whilst carefully considering the beliefs of others in order to foster crucial critical thinking skills as well as developing empathy. During each cycle, students are encouraged to reflect on how the unit links to their own life and the world around them in order to grow a deep and broad understanding of what it means to live in a multicultural Britain.

Please note, parents have the right to withdraw their child from religious education.
